CCTV Systems could be used in a Chiang Mai guesthouse

When people think of Thailand they often imagine serene, white sandy beaches and days spent lounging around a pool in a hotel. Thailand has more to offer holidaymakers than the sun and the sea however and many people like to visit the northern parts of the country as well. While there's no beach in the North there is lush green vegetation and waterfalls. It's also a lot less crowded in the far North and many people view this as a perfect place to invest and relocate. Places like Chiang Mai are particularly popular amongst the ex-pat community and retirees. There are a plethora of things to do and this laid back Northern city is a far cry from the stress and pollution of Thailand's infamous capital city, Bangkok. This also means that there's a lower crime rate but if people do invest in the wilds of the north they may consider employing some security around their property. One deterrent may be a camera system and even if these cameras aren't turned on they may be enough to encourage a thief to look elsewhere for easy pickings. Foreigners could be a target for these types of crimes as many local people would view a foreigner as having more money.

Whether this is true or not this perception could lead a thief to view a foreigner's property as an attractive target. This shouldn't deter people from investing in a place like this and property in Chiang Mai has as much chance of being burgled as a property in London. Installing CCTV Systems is just one way of deterring thieves and burglar alarms may also be an effective way of warning a potential thief, that to burgle this particular property is going to be more trouble than it's worth. Much of someone's security is in their own hands however and if someone goes out and leaves a window open or the door unlocked then they're asking for trouble wherever they live. Getting these things installed by a professional company is a good idea and this is especially true if this type of security is for a business.

A company is more likely to be targeted by thieves that are more professional and they may be able to work around, or disable a security system that's not of a very high standard. This is worrying for a business if they have expensive products stored somewhere and if security isn't tight enough an insurance company may not pay out if things go missing. An effective camera system may help police identify thieves as well and this is quite likely if they're not wearing masks and are amateur. Many people set up businesses in places like Chiang Mai. Many of these businesses are hotels and guesthouses to deal with the huge number of tourists that arrive every year. Having cameras placed around this type of property will give guests peace of mind and deter thieves from targeting guest rooms which they may regard as easy pickings.
